According to Ramaphosa’s ally, Gwede Mantashe should no longer serve as the energy minister.

According to rumors, one of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s allies is working to have Gwede Mantashe, the minister of energy, removed from his position. But one of his most well-known opponents is the troubled Derek Hanekom, who has made it known that he wants Mantashe replaced for dragging out the IPP procurement procedure.

People in South Africa think that this politician is merely opposing the minister because he has a direct financial stake in the implementation of independent power producer programs in their country.

However, the African National Congress does not just remove its ministers just because a certain person wants them removed, but there are processes that are supposed to be followed, which will see to it that he leaves the position. Gwede Mantashe has been praised by many who believe in his capabilities as a minister.
