A man shot and injured in Milnerton drive-by shooting

A young man was seriously injured in a drive-by shooting in Milnerton on Tuesday afternoon.

ER24 said in a statement the shooting happened on Racecourse Road in Milnerton, Western Cape

“Paramedics were parked at the hospital nearby when they heard the gunshots.

“Immediately responding, medics arrived on the scene at 13h46 to find a light motor vehicle, riddled with bullets, parked in the middle of the road against a truck.”

Paramedics found a man lying inside the light motor vehicle.

“Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained several gunshot wounds, leaving him in a serious condition.”
The man was treated on scene and provided with pain-relief medication before he was transported to Mediclinic Milnerton for stabilization. Shortly after, the man was transported to another hospital for further care.”

The details surrounding this incident are unknown, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.

Police could not immediately confirm the Milnerton shooting or provide more information.

Meanwhile in Orkney police were investigating three counts of murder and six of attempted murder following a shooting at the Engen garage.

Captain Sam Tselanyane, police spokesperson said the shooting took place around 7pm on Monday at the garage on the corner of Shakespeare and Flecker Roads in Orkney.

“Members of the Community Service Centre (CSC) on duty heard gunshots not far from the police station and moments thereafter, a man who was profusely bleeding entered the CSC armed with a pistol.”
