Real name Shaun Simons, from Macassar in the Western Cape, DJ Snow released an unofficial remix of Adele’s new song that came out on Friday.
So, this genre of the music is called “yaadt” in Cape Town and other parts of South Africa. It is a fusion of old-school soul with high-tempo house beats and is quickly gaining recognition in international clubs.
The DJ, who has been on the decks for eight years, joined Darren, Keri, and Sky and shared how he was able to release his version so quickly.

So the underground genre named ‘yaadt’ is the music in which the Cape Town communities find escapism. The music is often played and enjoyed at backyard parties.
