Well-known Limpopo media personality and comedian Captain Sabc Livhu, real name Livhuwani Madadzhe, is accused by his wife of domestic violence. The wife took to social media saying his philanthropic husband has continuously violated her physically.
Comedian SABC Livhu is being cancelled left, right and centre on Thursday, after a serious set of allegations were made against him. Both his partner and her daughter accused the performer of ‘committing GBV‘ against them.
SA COMEDIAN HIT BY ‘DISTURBING’ GBV ALLEGATIONS
Gender-Based Violence is one of the most pressing issues confronting South Africa at the moment. So with such a popular figure now facing these heinous allegations, the example that has been set for his fans and followers is poor.
Amongst other things, SABC Livhu – real name Livhuwani Madadzhe – is accused of physically striking his partner, and she claims that sexual assault also took place. Her child has also been on the end of the suspected abuse, with the youngest victim saying that she was forced into a dog cage by the public figure.
The abuse allegations were uploaded to social media this week:
WHO IS SABC LIVHU?
In his well-documented Facebook page, Captain Sabc Livhu is well known for helping poor families, building houses, donating food, and general activism in the Venda community, and mostly for his great role in saving a woman called Jane who was a victim of substance abuse.
The whole controversy has lead to more drama on Thursday, as Captain SABC Livhu Online – the comedian’s flagship show – lost a set of sponsors. Phanda Studios, who made their stance on GBV crystal clear, will now be pulling out of their agreement with the series. Madadzhe, previously accused of lying about his mother’s death, is in serious trouble:
“Phanda Studios is deeply disturbed by the allegations of Gender-Based Violence against Lvhuwani Madadzhe. As the owner and presenter of such a popular multimedia platform, we expect SABC Livhu to be an advocate against GBV, rather than an alleged perpetrator. We will immediately stop supporting and sponsoring Captain SABC Livhu Online.”
