Miss SA graduates from Wits University- Fans react

Congratulations are in order as the current Miss South Africa, Shudufhadzo Musida, graduates from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), Johannesburg.

Wits University took to its official Twitter account on Tuesday, 20 July, to congratulate the outgoing students, of which Shudufhadzo Musida was among. It was gathered that the ceremony was a virtual one but, Shudu was still invited physically nonetheless, for an interview with the Vice Chancellor ahead of every other graduands.

See tweet below:

It doesn’t seem to go down well as it has since created mixed feelings between other graduands and some South Africans, as the majority feel it is a case of Classism and Favouritism. Hence, taken to Twitter to express their feelings, while some expressed dissatisfaction over the issue, some others on the contrary saw nothing wrong with it considering Shudu is a public figure and the country’s representative.

See some tweet below:

“I love shudu but yal are shitty for this. We all worked hard and are equally deserving of graduating. This is the biggest middle finger to all graduates for conquering the edge.” @ThakhaniThakhie

“She’s a public figure and a role model to the youth. Any University would have used the opportunity to promote the importance of education and market themselves.” @MinhekoMaki

“So because she’s famous she gets a proper graduation and we don’t even get our names displayed. Great job wits. #witsieforlife #WitsGrads #Wits @thebestlammy

“But dis is not a graduation. It’s an interview 2 encourage others during pendamic. That walk just a show nje. Those who hav graduated before knows that. I think we r all angry dat we didn’t get an opportunity 2 graduate hence we feel like that cat walk an interview is graduation” @BlaqChuckNorris
