“The man was alone at home. He had just returned home after delivering pet food to a customer. He placed the cash by his prayer place before he continued with chores inside his home.”

Balram said while cleaning the bathroom, one of the man’s workers, entered the KZN premises and put him in a headlock.

“The suspect then drew a knife and repeatedly stabbed his employer before he proceeded to the prayer room where he stole the cash.”

Balram said the injured man stumbled out of the house and collapsed in his driveway but luckily, neighbours saw him and assisted him which ultimately led to his miraculous survival.

“The suspect is known as Sandile and he is believed to be a South African citizen. No further details of him are available.”

Barlam added that the suspect is considered to be dangerous and could attack again. He pleaded with the public and said that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Sandile, should contact Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) on 086-1234-333.

Barlam said the injured man is doing well.

“He is at home, resting and recovering.”

Police could not yet confirm the incident or provide more information regarding the attack or the suspect.
