Parts of the entertainment industry is known for being selective with their casting as they often exclude people of a certain group. Nomsa has experienced this, and she still does, but she refuses to back down.

Taking to Instagram, she said she encounters a lot of homophobic people who do not want to educate themselves on the sexuality, “Have you ever been down but you keep Smiling? I go through homophobic slurs almost daily, but they never sat down with me and to know my SEXUALITY is not a Disease.”

She expressed how industry people often side-line her because of her body. She even mentions how family turn their backs on people, “In the industry I keep on being told “you don’t look the part” But they never gave me a chance…. Kubuhlungu Even those you call family they Spit on you.

In previous posts she tells thick women that feeling sorry for themselves will not solve anything, “The world is the CONCRETE JUNGLE!!!… Dear Big Girl BE BOLD!! Put on That dress and claim your space In The World. No Time for Self Pity….. NOW MOVE!!!!”

Opening up to Isolezwe, a few months back, Nomsa opened up about living in fear because of homophobes. Nomsa Buthelezi a.k.a ‘Gomorrah Diva’ and her partner Zandile Shezi tied the knot in an intimate traditional ceremony.

Nomsa opened up about how it was love at first sight for the couple but the homophobic slurs they keep getting do not make their experience with marriage any easy.

“I do get a lot of hate from people every day, but I don’t pay any attention to that. Others look at us as though we are not humans. Every single day we are faced with the same treatment even where we reside the securities do not like us, hence the feeling of unsafety. We are just grateful for our families love and support,” Nomsa told the publication.
