The South African Police Service (SAPS) members are currently investigating a case of armed robbery after a cash in transit robbery occured in Roodepoort (Gauteng Province). According to the Intelligence Bureau South Africa news report, earlier today, Friday, 13 January 2023 a cash in transit van was ambushed by an unknown number of criminals at the corner of corner of Hendrik Potgieter road and Gordon road in Florida, Roodepoort (Gauteng Province).

The suspects held up security guards at gunpoint and proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of cash then they fled the scene in a getaway vehicle, SAPS members were dispatched to the scene and a case of armed robbery is currently under investigation, luckily no injuries were reported.
