It has been a painful week Residents of Boksburg found themselves running to save their lives and their family members’ lives following a truck tank explosion that happened on Saturday, after 9 people died on the scene other were injured, the death toll rising to 27 this morning,” Joe Phaahla told reporters at Tambo Memorial Hospital, close to where the blast took place.
That the explosion happened after the tanker, which was transporting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), got caught beneath a bridge close to a hospital and houses, according to the emergency services.Since Saturday there’s been sad news since the accident people are still dying. There have been sad stories shared on social media of people who were involved in the explosion.
One of those stories is of a young man who died with his mother after asking for help as he was in pain. In the video shared the young man is heard saying to the person who was taking a video, I can’t sir am in pain as the man was telling him to go to the hospital. In the video shared there were a lot of people who were screaming the names of their loved ones, some lady was also heard screaming saying Ndumiso.
People were hoping that he will survive especially after watching that video of him asking for help but unfortunately, he didn’t make it, but he died with his mother leaving people heartbroken. Saying this is one of the heartbreaking stories following the Boksburg explosion.This is painful indeed. How will people recover from something so painful? We are hoping that the government will offer the affected families counseling and they will also help them rebuild their homes because there are people who didn’t only lose their lives but also lost their homes and family members.
