A man was arrested after police stopped his car this week and found a R13 million drug stash, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said on Thursday.
Nkosingiphile Wiseman Nkosi, 37, appeared in the Springs Magistrates’ Court on Thursday on a charge of dealing and/or having drugs, NPA regional spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said. Nkosi was arrested on Tuesday on the N12 towards Springs.
He will remain in custody until his next court appearance on 14 July, while policy verifies his address.
She said the matter was postponed until July 14 for verification of his address.
Nkosi will remain in custody.
Officers from the SAPS organized crime investigation head office and crime intelligence agents from the transnational, drug trafficking and gangs section, along with the K9 West Rand unit members, made the seizure and arrest.
Police sources said the suspect was arrested only hours after entering SA from Mozambique
