The death of Riky Rick has changed many people’s perspective on life and how we live it, and SA celebrities are starting to realize that life is too short to waste on feuds.
For some, mental health – particularly among men – is being prioritized. Others like fellow rappers Reason and Flex Rabanyan have realized that it’s time to quash their beef.
REASON REACTS TO DEATH OF RIKY RICK
Up until recently, Reason and Flex have been embroiled in conflict that dates back to 2018, which kicked off on Twitter.
It all started with Flex admitting to paying payola to have one of his tracks played on a national radio station. Reason responded to the tweet by criticising his industry colleague.
Several shady comments and a diss track later and the two were essentially hailed as sworn enemies.
But earlier this year, it all changed when Flex had a change of heart over and decided to offer an olive branch to Reason. This, ironically, after alarming suicide statistics in the country were made public.
“This came from deep in my heart,” he said of his apology.
Unbeknownst to Reason, the death of Riky Rick had also forced him into introspection.
He tweeted over the weekend: “Riky’s death got me thinking that maybe it’s time to squash my beef with that other broer [brother]. Starting to feel like it’s not worth it to harbour bad energy till one of us dies.
“I mean. We ain’t gotta be friends. But we don’t need to be enemies neither”.
See tweet below:
After one follower brought it to his attention that Flex had apologized a month earlier, Reason responded: “I completely missed your apology. Thank you. We good. #SquashTheBeef”
On his own Twitter account, Flex responded: “Let peace reign. Thank you for accepting my apology like a grown man full of love. God bless you from this point on.
And that is that. Let’s hope this brings more of our feuding celebrities together, it’s not worth it.
