Patrick Shai, one of South Africa’s best-known and most revered actors, has died at the age of 57. Over the years, he has gained the respect and admiration of many people because of his acting prowess. His performance as an actor appeared to be superb.

Mzansi audiences became familiar with him from roles in popular soap operas such as Zero Tolerance and Skem Saam. Every assignment he worked on was a positive experience. As a producer and champion for gender-based violence, he was well-known for his work with depression. The lives of countless people were enriched by his work. People’s lives were enriched by his work. This is why people are still in shock and disbelief over his passing.

His family found that he had died the last Saturday morning in his Soweto home. Police were summoned immediately when a member of his family discovered his body in the garage of their home. His family is in disbelief; they had no idea this would happen. According to rumours, the actor committed suicide, but the circumstances surrounding his death remain a mystery. When he announced that he was separating from his wife and children, everyone was startled and unbelieving. As some had guessed, it doesn’t appear like he took his own life as others had feared.
