How BBMzansi delivers an epic S3 premiere

Big Brother Mzansi season delivered a stunning start as the popular reality show made its triumphant return to the screens! Here’s everything that went down.

Eyes across Africa were glued to their screen for the highly buzzed arrival of BBMzansi S3, which made its debut on Sunday night, 23 January 2022.

Rolling back to dominate the entertainment landscape, the show arrived to much fanfare, trending at #1 worldwide merely minutes after going on air live from Biggie’s House.

Seasoned Pro Lawrence Maleka magnetized with his effortless charm, confidence and a refreshing cadence as he stepped in to carry out his hosting duties on the blockbuster premiere.

Introducing the 18 Housemates, he put on display a charisma that not only set the social media street ablaze, but also allowed the Housemates to relax and spill some deep detail. Tea was served.

The show opened with a sombre tribute to Ntate Patrick Shai, the veteran South African actor who passed on this weekend.

The evening proceeded to play out a colourful experience of much colour, personality and fun. The Housemates clearly got the assignment – staying within the style syllabus as they rocked everything from florals to bright colours. The lush and colourful vibe and mood has been set!

It makes sense; the theme is ‘Beke le Beke’. This translates to to ‘week after week’.

The potent line delivers on the promise of BBMzansi S3 being packed with the kind of entertainment that will keep us on our toes, every single week.

To shake the table, Lawrence announced that Biggie is throwing in a twist.

Up until the moment they got in the House, the Housemates had not introduced themselves to each other.

This is by design, as they had been instructed to get to know each other without actually sharing their names.

The games begin right out of the gate, setting in motion a season that is packed with entertainment that will have us all hooked and glued to our screens.

High energy performances by Kamo Mphela, Chicco featuring Mellow and Sleazy instantly reminded us that Mzansi is the dance capital.

This was a big night, and street anthems were needed to mark an iconic return of a show adored by millions. The people definitely got the content they signed up for, and it came with just the right summer flavour.

This season, the Housemates are hoping to outlast each other in order to walk away with a cash prize of R2 Million!
