One social media influencer and DJ, Cyan Boujee, has come out to share what has been a tragic scene for her and her female friends. She said that she went to a gig in Pretoria at Corner Butcher and later was physically attacked by the owner of the club. She expressed that she is not well and wants help to get the man arrested.

Gender-based violence has been an ongoing pandemic for women in South Africa, and there seems to be an increase in cases of this scourge every single day.

The country was even ranked top1 amongst the countries that are the least safe places for women. The abuse and violence have been witnessed amongst ordinary people and popular figures like celebrities, which means it is not a respecter of class or status.

What is shocking in these events is the fact that she says the club bouncers did not help to protect her but instead held her so that the club owner can throw in some slaps. It’s disgusting behavior and the club owner and his bouncers need to be held accountable.
