Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane placed 2nd at Miss Universe 2021 pageant in Israel.

Miss SA’s Lalela Mswane who represented South Africa at the 70th Miss Universe pageant to be held in Eilat, Israel.

24-year-old Miss SA, Lalela Mswane finished as the second runner-up at the Miss Universe pageant, which took place on Monday, December 13 in Israel.

Lalela, who took part in the pageant’s national costume competition on Friday evening, embodying “A Dove of Peace”, has broken her silence on the backlash she’s received from her home country in a new interview with The Jerusalem Post.

The search was on for the young woman who will follow in the footsteps of the current Miss South Africa, Shudufhadzo Musida, to represent her country on the global stage, and become one of South Africa’s most prominent ambassadors and influencers.

Earlier this year, Lalela Mswane was crowned at the glitzy event. 

On Monday morning, 13 December, Mswane was crowned as the Second Runner-Up, while India’s Harnaaz Sandhu took home the crown at the 70th edition of Miss Universe.

In November, Mswane, who specialises in ballet dancing visited Breakfast with Martin Bester and showed off her incredible talent.
