Tembisa decuplets are real, but two died says Survé

Here we go again: Independent Media say they can prove the infamous ‘Tembisa 10’ do exist – but locating the decuplets is still taking time.

Independent Media Chairperson Iqbal Survé told a press conference on Wednesday that he has proof the alleged mother of the Tembisa 10 DID have her multiple pregnancies confirmed by doctors – before she gave birth. The publication that first reported on the decuplets story back in June presented findings from its investigation earlier today.

DO THE TEMBISA 10 ACTUALLY EXIST?

The Tembisa 10 story has been the subject of mockery and derision for the past few months – and even Nando’s roasted the bizarre case in one of their new adverts. Piet Rampedi, the journalist behind a series of exclusives that heralded the arrival of these unseen decuplets, has since been accused of peddling fake news.

However, Independent Media are ADAMANT that they got their facts right, despite all the drama that has gone beforehand. This morning, Survé told the assembled media that Gosiame Sithole did indeed give birth to decuplets. But from the birthed Tembisa 10, only eight of them actually survived, before they were taken to different hospitals.

WHERE ARE THE DECUPLETS, THEN?

Frustratingly, Survé said that he would only elaborate on where the babies are right now by releasing a series of videos on his media platform – meaning the wait for proof about their existence goes on.

TEMBISA 10: THE REVISED VERSION OF THE DECUPLETS’ JOURNEY

The run-up to the supposed birth was a chaotic affair, with scans regularly missing just how many babies were meant to be inside Sithole. Doctors with pseudonyms, trips between various hospitals, and a scramble to pay for her medical bills helped complicate matters – but Independent Media have doubled down on their decuplets story.

Survé told the presser:

  • The mother was pregant, confirmed to have ‘at least SIX babies’ in December 2020.
  • During a second scan in early 2021, it was recommended that Sithole saw a private doctor, and was now carrying EIGHT babies.
  • Independent Media claim to have detailed records of her hospital visits, where she was going twice a week before the birth.
  • The doctor that delivered her babies had previously showed the mother and her eight expected babies to other hospitals.
  • Survé claims they have a certificate proving that Sithole was carrying with ‘multiple pregnancies’.
  • When giving birth, it was revealed that two OTHER babies (making 10 in total) were lodged in the falopian tubes – but both died.
