A man from Louisiana was detained for keeping a woman and her daughter in a trailer against their consent. On November 2, an 11-year-old girl carried a handwritten note with her when she went to East Feliciana Middle School. According to CNN, the note said that she was terrified and being detained against her will. The girl handed the note to school administrators, who made a police call.
Sheriff Jeff Travis of East Feliciana Parish stated that the mother and child had been detained at a friend’s trailer “for at least a couple of weeks.”When a pupil arrives with a message asking for assistance, Travis told CNN, “It’s quite worrisome.”Travis did not specify what was said in the note, but he claimed that it implied the mother required assistance. She was unable to go, Travis said. She couldn’t talk on the phone, but she needed someone to get her out of the predicament.
Donald Ray Guy was the named family friend. The girl’s mother and two of the suspect’s relatives were discovered inside the trailer after authorities secured a warrant to search it. Guy was in a closet hiding.According to the police, Guy is wanted for at least three arrests. Every time the police attempted to arrest him, he fled. When you realize that the mother may be held captive and the child was experiencing a very unfavorable environment, you always get a chill. In fact, it might have been worse than what was discovered, Travis told KTRK. Since then, the mother and daughter have been reunited. Guy was detained and is now incarcerated. He is currently without a lawyer and no bond has been set.
